MRS. SMITH


Welcome to 4th grade! I am looking forward to an amazing year with your children!

This year marks my 20th year of teaching. I began teaching grades 3-5 in 1996 in Denver Public Schools. After 7 years I made the switch to Cherry Creek Schools.  I spent 8 years at Eastridge Elementary teaching grades 3-5 in addition to working as an ELA (English Language Acquisition) teacher. I moved to Belleview at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year and taught one year of 5th grade.  This year will be my 4th as part of the wonderful 4th grade team. 

I was born and raised in Denver, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1992. I attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa where I received my BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Art. In 2002 I received my MA from CU Boulder in Bilingual, Multicultural, and ESL Foundations of Education. 

My husband, Tracy, and I just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary this summer. Our son, Andy, turned 9 in July and will be a 4th grader in DPS. Our family enjoys traveling during vacations and spending time with our 2 dogs. 

MRS. RHODES

Hello, I am Mrs. Morgan Rhodes and I am very excited for this school year! I have been an educator for over 30 years! I have been in the Cherry Creek School District for 20 years. I was also a student in the district since the first grade. I have a daughter just entering her sophomore year at Cherry Creek High School.  I have a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law. Cole and Katelyn, they live in Bejing. They have a year old baby and another one on the way.  I  also have a stepdaughter, Jenna and she lives in Chicago.  We miss them very much, but had some great family time this summer when they were all here in Denver.

My husband of four years, is a teacher in Cherry Creek too, he teaches third grade.  We enjoy traveling, going out to eat, walking, and going to movies at the artsy theaters!

It’s going to be a great fourth grade year!  Welcome to a wonderful team and school year!

MR. MEEHAN

Hello 4th grade students and the parents of those students!

I am very excited about the 2017-2018 school year!  Our students this year are going to be treated to so many interesting stories, topics, discussions, new skills and concepts.

I'm proud to say that this will be my 29th year in education, and my 28th year as part of the Cherry Creek School District.  This will be my tenth year teaching 4th grade at Belleview.  Even with all of that experience, every year is very different and provides its own challenges.  I guess that's why I still love being a teacher!  It's always fresh and different.

My wife, Wendi, is a teacher at Homestead Elementary in Cherry Creek, and my daughter, Hannah, attends Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.  Much of my time outside of school is spent at Hannah's swimming competitions, or taking care of my dog, a black lab named Zeena.  I'm also one of the original Broncomaniacs.  I'm a big football fan and a former player, so I enjoy watching the games in the fall.

I know this is going to be a fantastic year and  I look forward to working with all of you!

MR. JAMES

Hello and welcome to 4th Grade at Belleview!  This is my 10th year teaching elementary school and my second year teaching in Colorado.  I taught my first 8 years in Galesburg, Illinois serving 4th and 5th grade.  I recently completed a master's degree in Educational Leadership.  I am very excited to be part of the 4th grade team and I look forward to a successful year filled with growth, inquiry and excellence!  

My wife, Katie, and I moved to Colorado last summer and have loved every minute being here.  Katie is an intensive care nurse.  When we are not at school or the hospital, we love running, biking, enjoying the mountains, and experiencing the joys and trials of being first-time home-owners.

I feel privileged to have joined such a wonderful team of professionals in 4th grade and the rest of the Belleview staff. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and working together to have a wonderful year!
